Cline calls his new ensemble The Nels Cline Singers even though there are no singers in the band. He calls the album, Instrumentals ... well, because there are no singers in the band. Nels displays a mastery of guitar expression that encompasses delicate lyricism, sonic abstractions, and skull crunching flights of fancy, inspiring Jazz Times to call him, "The World's Most Dangerous Guitarist."
