Some of the greatest jazz artists in Los Angeles and New York have come together to pay tribute to the late bass player and composer Eric von Essen who worked with Art Farmer, Bob Brookmeyer, Warne Marsh, Shorty Rogers, Bud Shank and Jimmy Rowles, to name a few. Volume III features the same stellar lineup as Volume I & II including: Alex Cline, Nels Cline, Peter Erskine, Larry Koonse, Alan Pasqua, Stacy Rowles plus a few others including vocalist Kate McGarry.
